As a true fan of the series, I have been waiting for Riss and Ike's book for far too long!  James once again does what she does best: present realistically, complicated and likeable characters that have electric chemistry that develops into a profound bound and romance that keep readers coming back for me.

I love Riss, sassy yet vulnerable and Ike who is lost in his own way. Sparks fly when these two share close quarters but the depth of their understand of each other is just as interesting as the tension that builds while reader's wait to find out just when they will give in to each other.

Racked and Stacked has the feel like it could be the end of this series but I'd be delighted if we get to see more from this group of characters.

REVIEW: Hang Tough by Lorelei James

Cowboy Tobin Hale makes sure to look out for trouble causing Mud Lily, Garnet Evans. While he knows that it may be seen as strange with her moves in to protect her from her son hell bent to run her out of her home, but nothing prepared him for the arrival of Garnet's beautiful and feisty granddaughter, Jade, who assumes Tobin must be up to no good.

Sparks fly between these two immediately, so much so, that Garnet bans them being in the same room together.  Too bad that plan goes south as attraction leads to feelings neither one can deny. Just when Tobin was prepared to leave Muddy Gap for good, he might just have found the best reason to stay.

Another excellent Blacktop Cowboys from James that is super sexy and snarky.  I'm a big sucker for the old frenemies and roommates trope so this didn't disappoint.

REVIEW: Cowboy Take Me Away by Lorelei James

Cowboy Take Me Away is the final Rough Riders book. Balancing a narrative in the present and a retrospective of the past, the novel focuses on the romance and lives of Carson McKay and Carolyn West McKay.  Beginning with a sudden accident more than 50 years into their marriage, Carson reflects on their life together.

Readers finally get a view into how it all started.  Carson is a sexy cowboy with a bit of a wild streak.  From the moment he sees Carolyn, an innocent yet sexy blonde, from across the room, he knew he had to have her and that their lives would never be the same.  He's shocked to learn that she's a West, but he doesn't care about the long standing feud between their families.

Carolyn throws caution to the wind and embraces her growing relationship with Carson.  The more time they spend together, the more she discovers that he is far more than the handsome bad boy others would have her believe. While their life together is filled with ups and downs, it is a relationship built soundly on love and can prove that even lust can last the test of time.

This was a great way to end the series. Readers have only seen glimpses of Carolyn and Carson as they relate to their own grown children and grandchildren.  It is fitting to wrap up this epic and sexy series of the McKay's with their story.  Characteristic of James, reader's won't be disappointed with the erotic romps nor the character driven plot.  There are plenty of cameos from many other series favorites. As this era comes to an end, readers can get ready for a new spin off series, Rough Rider Legacy.
